AdvocacySD provides educational advocacy in California and Arizona. Our areas of specialty are Section 504, IEPs, Manifest Determinations (suspension, expulsion), and Alternative Dispute Resolution.
Special Education Advocacy: Let’s be honest: the special education system is not user-friendly, especially for parents and guardians. No one wants to file for due process. Whether you are seeking special education services, if your student already has an IEP or your student has a Section 504 plan needing to transition to an IEP, our Special Education Advocates will work collaboratively with you to assist you in understanding the process each step of the way.
Section 504: If your student does not qualify for special education but needs accommodations due to a medically-documented disability, our Special Education Advocates will help to ensure your student receives a meaningful Section 504 plan. This general education function may help support your student’s launch to success.
Suspension/Expulsion/Manifest Determination: Let’s be honest: the special education system is not user-friendly, especially for parents and guardians. No one wants to file for due process. Whether you are seeking special education services, if your student already has an IEP or your student has a Section 504 plan needing to transition to an IEP, our Special Education Advocates will work collaboratively with you to assist you in understanding the process each step of the way.
Alternative Dispute Resolution: When you’ve been to multiple IEP meetings yet nothing seems resolved ADR is a great solution to achieve quick resolution to IEP and Section 504 challenges. ADR is a step often taken prior to a family filing for due process and typically allows a family to avoid due process entirely. Without the stress of attorneys or full IEP teams, ADR is a collaborative process, allowing for better conversation leading to better results. AdvocacySD LLC advocates specialize in the ADR process and are well-equipped to lead you to a successful outcome, including nonpublic school and residential program placements, as well as compensatory education.
